Mission

Metropolitan Garden Club of Portland is devoted to the promotion of the aesthetic appreciation of gardens. To develop the love of growing plants and promote general interest in individual and community gardens through membership networking, education and civic activities.

History

The Metropolitan Garden Club of Portland was founded in 1938 as the Men’s Garden Club of Portland and became coed in 1985. As the oldest garden club in the Portland metro area, our members include the novice weekend gardener as well as Master Gardeners and landscape professionals.

 

 

 


Location

All meetings are held at the German American Society, 5626 NE Alameda, Portland, Oregon.
Note: Meetings held in July and August, are held at members’ home gardens.

Directions

There is parking on Alameda plus the Society’s parking lot across the street. Trimet bus lines #12 and #71 stop near the intersection of NE Sandy at NE 57th. Bus routes #77 and #24 each stop about a half-mile walk away.
